United Nigeria Airlines, one of the leading domestic airlines in Nigeria, has finalized its plans to commence regular flights to the Chuba Okadibo International Cargo Airport in Abakaliki, Ebonyi State.
The niche Abakaliki route is one of eight new routes the fast-growing airline has earmarked for operations, according to findings in the fact sheet. Speaking to FACTSHEET, a senior executive of the airline confirmed: "Yes, we will start flights to Abakaliki airport before September."
Apart from the niche route of Abakaliki, the airline will also expand its operations to other routes including Benin City, Sokoto, Jos, Ibadan, Akure, Maiduguri and Kano.
United Nigeria currently flies to Anambra, Abuja, Bayelsa, Asaba, Enugu, Warri, Port Harcourt and Owerri.
The current longest runway in Nigeria will be found at the Ebonyi Airport, which was constructed under the watch of the immediate past governor of Ebonyi State, Chief Engr. David Umahi.
